A nightmare Begins:
19 years ago my life started to come to an end, at least that is how I viewed it. I was strong
and aggressive and thought I had the world by the tail until I began to exhibit a lot of
strange symptoms. Fatigue, weakness, and depression were the first things to hit me. It
was tough to sit day after day in an easy chair wondering how we were going to pay our
bills and not have the strength to go do something about it. My wife would grab me by my
belt and shirt collar and make me walk to the to the mailbox every day but that was a day's
work for me. I would sit exhausted in my chair for the rest of the day. I visited numerous
doctors and specialists only to have them shake their heads in bewilderment or just have
them tell me I was depressed and needed some anti-depressant medication, (I wasn't
depressed until I was sick!), or have them say it was all because I didn’t eat dairy products.
I can’t believe they had the audacity to charge me for wasting my time like that! Eventually
after about 8 months on a extra healthy vegetarian diet and tons of raw vegetable juices
and some fever treatments at a hydrotherapy center I was able to go back to work on a
very limited scale. I still suffered from mind numbing fatigue, weakness, and
sleeplessness. The symptoms remitted and relapsed several times over the next 3 years.
Then one day I became terrible dizzy at work and was taken to the hospital. The
neurologist thought perhaps I had an aneurysm but the MRI ruled that out. It is possible
that an injury from a recent car accident was causing the dizziness but I will never know
for certain. At this point I gave up working again and resigned myself to being on disability.
Soon I began to experience numbness in my right shoulder and leg along with many bouts
with  blurred vision caused by optic neuritis a common MS symptom. When I would travel
by plane and return after even being gone for only a couple of days my vision would be so
bad I could barely read big print for days. I began to develop spasticity in several muscle
areas. The worst was the spasms in the muscles that controlled my ability to swallow. This
scared me half to death. I had seen other MS patients with tubes in for feeding and it really
freaked me out to think that that was what I was facing soon.

Waking Up!
I call this part waking up because it really was what was happening.  All the information I
was getting from the medical community was that the condition was genetic and that if I
relied on conventional wisdom that I would continue to decline until somebody came up
with a cure.   Now I was finding information that began to dispel this darkness.  I found
clues that there might be another side to this story. Around this time I began studying
botanical medicine in depth and began to focus on a possible nutraceutical approach to a
recovery. This was such a rewarding experience that I changed careers and work in this
field today! I made some very amazing discoveries about my own condition. Positive
changes came a little at a time over the next few years.

The Heavy Metal Connection:
I finally realized that I got really sick any time I had any dental work done. I finally had all
my mercury amalgam fillings removed, which nearly killed me since I wasn’t aware that
there was a right and wrong way to do this. I should have been taken it a bit slower,
changing one or two at a time and  I believe it would have been better if I had been taking a
chelator like NDF at the time. I was tested later for heavy metal toxicity and my mercury
levels were really high which amazed me since I thought that taking the fillings out was all
that I had to do. What I didn’t know was that each of those 13 fillings had been leaking
about 3,000,000 atoms of mercury into my system for the last 25 years and the
accumulation was locked up in my fat and brain tissues and still needed to be removed.
Since that time I have used NDF and had those levels come down into safe limits. I used a
do-at-home heavy metal test kit to monitor my progress.  I believe the heavy metals had a
lot to do with the cause. Removing them removed a large part of the cause but I now had
to find something to deal with the damage already done to my nervous system and my
immune system.

Nutritional Approach To Repairing the Damage.
I believe that God was  blessing my mind about this time and helped me to develop
several  nutritional supplements which I began to take very faithfully. I saw no change at
all for some months. However it became apparent that my strength and endurance was
returning, the numbness was disappearing as well as the blurred vision from optic neuritis.
The main supplement is
Immuno-plex which is an advanced glyconutrient complex. My
opinion is that is a very effective immune modulator which in effect prevents my own
cytotoxic T-cells from attacking my own myelin sheathing. It also seems to be a pretty
good immune stimulator for me since I very rarely get even a sniffle any more. The
second is
Super Green Phyto Complex which gives me a ton of phyto-nutrient support.
One serving is like eating several servings of fresh raw produce, except better since it
contains so many extra nutrients. I also take
Cell-U-Zyme daily. Cell-U-Zyme is a systemic
enzyme complex that I believe works in my blood stream to help in dissolving
cerebral/spinal lesions and helping to restore neurological function. (I have no proof that
this is actually what it taking place) I think that it has also been a great help with my
utilization of nutrients. I had been quite underweight ever since the initial attack until I
began to take Cell-U-Zyme regularly. I have gained back a lot of my original weight and
look a lot better. I also try to take
Antioxidant Plus frequently as well to help facilitate
healthy DNA.  After reading a book by Dr Swank about a 33 year study done at the
University of Oregon about MS and fat consumption I cut out all animal fats and limited my
intake of even vegetable fats.  I do consume flaxseed oil, olive oil, and sometimes other
vegetable oils but try hard to avoid anything hydrogenated. I commenced taking this
nutritional and supplement regimen about 3 years ago and the result has been
phenomenal! I feel great! I travel the world doing mission projects, cut my own firewood,
ride horses, garden, and about anything else I want to do! The last few months I have had
the opportunity to bump into people that I haven’t seen in about 2 years. These people
were astounded at the results of this supplement program. I look about 5 years younger to
them than I did 2 years ago. This has happened to me so many times in the last few weeks
that I no it’s not just a fluke! I started laughing at the airport after several people called me
“Young Man!” I am a grandfather!! I really think that my story can inspire other people to
take action to reclaim their own health from multiple sclerosis as well as other
autoimmune diseases.

My hypothesis of the pathology of autoimmune diseases:
This is of course just my opinion but my observations have been pretty consistent, as
other people also have tried my approach to their own recovery from various autoimmune
conditions. I believe that an autoimmune disorder is an autoimmune disorder no matter
what the category. The condition tends to express itself differently in different people
hence its various names: Multiple sclerosis (MS), rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, etc. In each
case you still have the person’s own immune cells (T-cells) targeting the body’s own
tissue rather than a pathogen. Due to some toxicity type, be it metal or chemical the cell to
cell communication via chemical messengers becomes disrupted and to the confused
defense cells the body’s own host cell’s DNA cannot be differentiated from that of a
pathogen such as a virus.

Step one of decline:
The immune system begins to weaken due to systemic toxicity due either to heavy
metals, chemical
toxicity or the result of poor lifestyle habits; probably a combination of
all of the above.

Step two of decline:
A pathogen such as one of the following three common viruses presents with an
infection: Epstein Barr Virus, Cytomegalovirus, Herpes Simplex-6. People with
autoimmune conditions very frequently have one or more of these either as a
current infection or a recent past infection. Fighting these viruses on a long-term
basis tends to cause the immune system to get more and more hostile as time
continues. The removal of the toxic element(s) and the addition of immune
modulation by glyconutrients such and Immuno-plex. The new immune system now
can eventually overcome the pathogen and the recovery can be appreciated  if the
lifestyle of a low-fat, low sugar natural diet high in phytonutrients is followed as
well as a total removal of the toxic element is achieved.

My recovery should be considered anecdotal.  I have no
clinical proof that taking
the supplements has improved my condition.  That would need to be done via
double blind clinical studies which have not been done.
